Custom and Faculty-Led Programs
Exedra offers logistical and specialised teaching support for faculty-led and custom programs for schools, colleges, and universities interested in visiting Sicily. The Exedra team has many years of experience in the field, making them ideal partners for supporting visiting faculty and taking the stress out of the organisation.
Exedra deals with all logistical aspects for the group once in Sicily, including in-country transport, accommodation, visits and tours, links to the local community, curricular and extra-curricular activities, leaving visiting faculty to concentrate on their teaching. Exedra staff can also provide teaching with a particular focus on Sicily, guides to monuments and sites, translations and can count on a network of local experts where needed.
Exedra can help you with the creation of a program rich in field trips and experiential learning opportunities. With years of experience accompanying groups all over Sicily and beyond, we can suggest visits and tours to complement the subject of the program.
Exedra strongly recommends including a few hours of “Italian for Survival”, so students have a little introduction to the Italian language, believing that the study of the language is fundamental to a better understanding of the surroundings and a richer engagement with the people and the culture, whatever the length of stay in Sicily.
Exedra also organises activities that complement class-work. Extra-curricular activities such as volunteer work, outdoor sports, and cultural activities can be arranged, giving students the chance to interact with the local community and gain deeper insight into the culture, or simply have some fun!
